Typography Design

Peru Bienal, a pioneer in the design sector in the Americas, officially announces an International Call for Entries in the category of Typography / Type Design. The call is open to companies, professionals,  and emerging designers , with published or unpublished projects. This category recognizes projects that explore the creation, development, and application of typographic systems, ranging from character and typeface family design to experimental, variable, generative, and digital typographic proposals.

The category also welcomes custom typographic solutions developed for brands, institutions, cultural projects, editorial projects, or specific purposes. Projects may be published or unpublished and must have been created within the last six years.

Submissions may include: Complete typeface families, Display typefaces, Text typefaces, Experimental typefaces,Variable typefaces, Custom typefaces, Multilingual typefaces, Generative and computational typefaces, Digital and interactive type systems, Typographic systems developed for specific brands, institutions, cultural, or editorial projects.

Each submission should provide sufficient visual and technical information to demonstrate the development, characteristics, and application of the typographic project. Depending on the nature of the project, submissions may include:

Character Set
Uppercase and lowercase letters, numerals, punctuation marks, symbols, and other relevant characters.

Typeface Family
Different weights, styles, widths, or variations, when applicable.

Typographic Specimens
Words, phrases, paragraphs, compositions, and typographic examples demonstrating the character, functionality, and versatility of the typeface.

Application Examples
Visual examples showing how the typeface or typographic system is applied in real or conceptual contexts.
