Christopher Scott

International Jury

Christopher Scott is an internationally recognised award-winning designer. Born in Northern Ireland, he received both a bachelors and a Masters degree in Design from the University of Ulster, Magee. The concepts of his work are paramount to his visuals, and his work communicates strong and meaningful messages with humanity at the core of his designs. Scott has won more than 300 international awards and has been recognised by many organisations such as the WWF, International Poster Biennale Warsaw, Poster For Tomorrow, Amnesty International, Designboom, Moscow Global Biennale of Graphic Design Golden Bee, Adobe and he received a silver medal in the International Design Awards and also 3 Gold awards at the prestigious Graphis in United States. His work has been exhibited all around the world including countries such as Iran, Mexico, Russia, China, Korea, Ecuador, Germany, Poland, Italy, Peru, Korea, the United States and many more, including the Louvre in Paris, France. He has been a member of multiple international juries and he is also the Co-Founder of Poster Poster and the Founder of Designers Speak. Scott has also given conferences and workshops in countries such as China, United States, Argentina, Ecuador, Indonesia, Venezuela, Mexico, Northern Ireland and Russia. Currently he is a Professor of Graphic Design at the Iowa State University, Invited Professor at the University of Kragujevac in Serbia, Invited Professor at the Capital Normal University in China and Ex-President and Founder of the Ecuador Poster Bienal®.

He has been awarded several prizes: IF Design Awards, Brazil Design Awards, Brazilian House Museum Award, among others. Leo's captivating work has transcended geographical borders, making its mark in museums and galleries across South America, Europe, Asia, and the United States. His ability to captivate audiences through thought-provoking design has made him a sought-after figure in the global design community. His innovative approach, combined with his abundant creativity and unmatched passion, have positioned him as a trailblazer in the design world. Gabriel M. Meave

Gabriel Martínez Meave. Design, Illustration, Identity, Calligraphy, Typography, Lettering —and the mix of them all— are my passion. I work on personal, editorial, cultural and commercial projects for national and international clients from my studio in Mexico City. My inspiration is everywhere, especially in the deep, diverse, graphic heritage of my country. My work features traditional and digital techniques, from pencils to pixels. I’ve executed projects for global companies such as Warner Music, Google, Kellogg’s, Pearson, Richmond, McMillan, Santillana, Siruela, Unilever; for Leo Burnett, J. W. Thompson, Lowe, Ogilvy&Mather, TeránTBWA and other advertising agencies, as well as Mexican institutions such as Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, Presidencia de la República, Fondo de Cultura Económica and national clients like Grupo Modelo, José Cuervo, Maseca, Jumex, El Palacio de Hierro, Telcel, Cervecería Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma and Gandhi bookstores. My work has been featured in global Design and Illustration magazines such as How, Communication Arts, Step, Étapes Graphiques, Page, Novum, Desktop, Visual, Tupigrafía, TPG, Diseña, Matiz and a!Diseño. As well, it has appeared in the books Language Culture Type, Typography 21, 22 & 29, Tres Logos, Type Navigator, Hand to Type, Play Loud!, Type 365, Marcas MEX and Diseño Gráfico en México 100 Años, among others. I teach at the Mexican colleges Universidad Anáhuac Xalapa and Universidad de Celaya, as well as Universidad de Vigo at Pontevedra, Spain. I have given lectures and workshops in many universities, design conferences and events in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Spain, Sweden, Brazil, Argentina and most Latin American countries. I’ve been recipient of diverse awards, including five from the Type Directors Club of New York (TDC), two from the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI), as well as the First Prize of the National Design Biennial in Mexico. In 2009, London-based publisher Phaidon selected my work for the book Area_2 among 100 of the most important emergent designers in the world today.

Susana Machicao

Susana has worked in several agencies / studies within the creative team in communications and advertising. As well as formed many departments of design, communication and marketing in companies of edition and massive products. She is an undisputed leader in everything she undertake and likes to belong to teams with vision of growth in the medium and long term. Has an extraordinary organizational capacity and multitasking, which makes it respond to instances under pressure. Very good with the teams as well as with the strategic vision of the modern world, social networks and communications. From her own studio, she has carried out external consultancies as well as set up and lead at in house places for different national and international institutions of development, education and sustainability, as well as private companies in advertising, publishing, mass consumption, gastronomy and tourism. As a professional she is constantly moving and updating She is passionate about her work, so she is open to sharing her knowledge in virtue of the search for results and success. In 2016 she gained a Career and Professional Recognition in Design by the University of Palermo at the Design Schools Forum. Her work has been published in Taschen Index Books, Rockport Publishers and Hexanine / How Publishers and has exhibited in 45 cities. She has been jury, lecturer and workshop professor.
