6 days: The end of a Poet

Synopsis
Synopsis

On September twenty-seven in 1849, the poet Edgar Allan Poe boarded a steamship bound for New York. A week later, on the third of October, the poet is found in Baltimore lying paralyzed and semi-conscious on a sidewalk. He never fully recovers and ends up three days later. There is no evidence, no testimony about his death. There are only thoughts, assumptions, logical and irrational. What finally happened to him during those six days? The mododentro team will investigate this mystery with all its resources. Through imaginative, theatrical, poetic, musical means. It does not wish to shed scientific light on these days, that would be the light of academics and forensic scientists. Instead, he expects to spread some of Poe’s moonlight in an ecstatic, poetic version of these 6 days.

Six actors. Six poems. 6 stories. 6 days – the end of a poet.

The performance “6 Days: The End of a Poet” is a theatrical creation that combines speech, music, and digital imagery.

It explores the inner world of a poet confronted with inspiration, memory, and decay. Through alternating light, sound, and projections, an experience is created that balances between poetry and reality, silence and scream.

The direction and original music create a setting that combines technology and emotion, inviting the audience to experience poetry and the man behind it.
