Synopsis

I am a woman.

 I am four women.

 I am a million women.
Accidental bodies in one space.
Women’s bodies living their small lives.
Too ordinary.
They almost smile naturally, almost moan
sincerely, almost take vitamins on schedule, almost plan every second, almost
always reproduce the right words.
But when suddenly one of them is alone
in silence – the body disobeys.
Search the symptoms: scales on the skin,
bitterness in the mouth and between the legs, soft bones.
What’s wrong with me? Who am I?
They heal themselves with cuts,
lidocaine, vodka and overworking – not to feel.
And in the morning they go back to work
– ordinary women.
Until one day their eyes meet,
and the silent scream turns into a
story.
One after another.
Story after story.
And then we will know the reason.
Why I am here.
I am the Gorgon.

“Gorgon Syndrome” is a performative piece about female trauma and silence, inspired by the myth of Medusa. Four women transform the experience of violence into an act of liberation through body, voice, and ritual.
