Synopsis
LIBERA ME is an audiovisual performance where stories and opinions of real witnesses of two bloodiest wars in modern European history -the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992-95) and current Putin’s invasion of Ukraine – are told through powerful soundtrack, live performance and video art. Created by two Berlin-based artists – Bosnian actress Maja Zećo and Russian composer Roman Stolyar, the project is based on interviews taken from Bosnians, Ukrainians and Russians experiencing consequences of wars, as well as personal reminiscences of two creators of the project (Maja experienced the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and became a refugee as a result; Roman was forced to flee from Russia because of his anti-war activity). LIBERA ME is focusing on searching for ways of overcoming the post-war trauma and liberating from fears, hatred and mistrust caused by past and present wars.
