PERU BIENAL 2026 WILL OFFER 33 FREE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCES IN LIMA.

The Peru Biennial has announced 33 free international performances in Lima as part of its 2026 International Performing Arts Program, featuring dance, theater, opera, and performance art. The opening event will take place on April 4 at Sala Bienal G, with the presentation of the contemporary dance work UNPACKED: A Dance Adventure, directed by American choreographer Taylor Gordon.

The performance will feature an international cast including Adrienne de la Fuente, Isabel Harding, Dominique Cinque, Julia Sheker, Caitlin Bond, Delaney Andersen, Jordana Rosenberg, Nikki Sember, Fosca Tezzat, and Kimmy Sessions. Admission will be free with advance registration through the event’s official website and will be subject to confirmation.

Centro Español del Perú to Host Performances and Stage Projections

The program will continue on April 8 at the Centro Español del Perú, specifically at the Teatro Antonio Banderas, which will host a series of performances and stage projections.

The scheduled works include:

The Merchant of Venice, by the Jewish State Theatre in Bucharest (Romania)
How to Make Another Boléro?, by EM+ (Italy)
Ya Ha Shim, by Prints Dance Company (United States)

Admission to these performances will also be free, upon prior online registration and confirmation by the organization.

That same day, at 7:30 p.m., Lyribélula, a one-person performance by the Spanish company MikrÒpera, will be presented. The production combines elements of clowning and opera.

Teatro Miraflores to Host Final Events in April and May

During the final stage of the program, Teatro Miraflores will host several performances on April 24 and May 8.

On April 24, the program will feature works including:

Fibra Danza, by Omnia Dance Company (Italy)
Hamlet Is Dead, by Arte Factum Company (Romania)
The Suppliants, by the Contemporary Theater Institute (Iran)

Meanwhile, on May 8, the program will include:

Ay Carmela, by Theartes (Greece)
Lunar Eclipse, by Cultural and Artistic Youth Association KUUM (Serbia)
The Yellow Dog’s Tale, by Zavosh Theatre Group (Iran)
Woman Ex Machina, by Experimental Theatre Stage θέARTο (Greece).

Organization Announces New International Performances

The organization has announced that additional international companies will arrive in Peru throughout the year. Upcoming productions include:

Desdemona’s Handkerchief, by Shakespeare Imaginarium (Romania)
6 Days: The End of a Poet, by Mododentro Theater Company (Greece)
