Synopsis

The play “The Tale of the Yellow Dog, Brother of the Jackal” follows highly surreal and non-realistic narrative threads.

“The Tale of the Yellow Dog, Brother of the Jackal” is a deep psychoanalytic exploration of a couple coping with the loss of their child, entering a severe emotional and relational crisis. Following the advice of their psychiatrist, the wife introduces a dog into their lives to help the husband return to the real world from the dark and isolated space he has created around himself. The dog is characterized with fully human traits, possessing all human-like behaviors and emotional responses, and gradually becomes the husband’s object of deep attachment. However, to reconnect him with reality, the wife eventually takes the dog away and kills it in front of the husband. This act intensifies their emotional crisis, leading to the wife leaving the husband. The performance examines grief, attachment, loss, and the delicate human process of coping with trauma.

This piece serves as the first episode of a trilogy, aiming to explore the issue of Malacology, a psychological disorder.
