The Tale of the Yellow Dog, Brother of the Jackal

Synopsis

The play “The Tale of the Yellow Dog, Brother of the Jackal” follows highly surreal and non-realistic narrative threads. Creating a realm of magical realism through unique characterizations, such as the
presence of a dog with human characteristics in the lives of a couple who have lost their child, along with highly synchronized dialogues, slow-paced movement, minimalist physical forms, and scene
design, fused and composite music, intensifies the psychological aspects of the work significantly.
The script delves into the lives of a man and a woman who have lost their child in a tragic incident.
Three years after the event, the man still struggles to accept the present reality and dwells within his inner world. In a final attempt to save him and his crumbling life, the woman introduces a dog into their lives to pull the man out of his inner world. However, circumstances take a tragically different turn.
This piece serves as the first episode of a trilogy, aiming to explore the issue of Malacology, a psychological disorder.
