Will you catch me?

Will you catch me?

Synopsis

In the story of garden of eden, after Adam and Eve eat from the forbidden tree, they see themselves naked for the first time. Something in their primal consciousness changes and moves them into a different state. Suddenly they are aware of their naked bodies. Their eyes are opened and their nakedness is turned to the source of shame and distress. I offer a different interpretation to this moment. The touch in the tree leads to a divine moment of complete devotion. Yes, we are naked and exposed, but there is something pleasurable and pure about it. It offers a new intimacy – we are naked but not in the physical sense, but the emotional. We see each other, and equal to one another, we are there to trust and catch each other. In this duet with a wind quality I expose the space between the joints, and the lack of space between the trusting bodies. Sensual and divine, pure and full of air that flows between the shapes. A kind of unity and equality between the two bodies. Instead of dealing with stereotypical images of man and woman, we see two people standing on the same level, needing each other, supporting each other. They are people of today, that once are being catched and once catching, moving in the range between holding on to letting go. Allowing themself to trust each other in the world of pain and misery, offering us comfort that takes us beyond and back to ourselves.
